Meta Assassins (MA) is the first online, Role Playing Game tournament played on the “world wild web” where everyone plays an assassin with a mission to get the most number of kill points. Kill points are gained whenever an assassin successfully wounds or kills his target.
Sounds easy enough? Well, that’s not all...
Apart from your kill missions, MA also has a series of activities, ranging from online to offline Jobs that players can do to get more game dollars just to stay ahead of their game. Players will need to strategically plan their recharging activities carefully ‘cos apart from the thrills of hunting a target down, you are also escaping the hands of another assassin at the same time. MA has an engaging and unpredictable plot, and players’ choices made in the game determine how they move on in the organisation, META.

Game Overview
Still in its Beta phase, MA is touted to be first of its kind, offering a unique multi-player social reality experience to 'would-be assassins'.
Taking cue from many popular online social games that ties back to Facebook, MA promises a much richer game experience - both online and offline. Blurring virtual and actual realities, players 'prowl' for their targets through their web browsers (with a plug-in installed) online and are required to perform certain Jobs (Dead Drops and Pick Ups) offline in order to advance further into the game.

If you’re thinking of hiding behind avatars, alter egos and secret identities, no one’s stopping you but hey, that’s so yesterday.
Every player can take on an alias, but only META knows the true identities of all its Assassins and if you asked us why, well, the Organisation doesn’t really take well with impostors or impersonators ‘cos secrecy is what it values the most. That’s why we’re strongly suggesting that each player should take up their true (Facebook) identity, in person, and play the role of a META Assassin... for real.
Each Kill Mission or Job is wired specifically to the Assassins through META’s very own authentication system. After accepting, players will be prompted with specially generated security questions that only your true self will be able to answer. Hence, in order to enable a secured and authentic Assassin identity to emerge, players are encouraged to answer all questions truthfully, as one would, instinctively.
Failure to answer correctly (in 2 successive attempts) to similar questions (asked in the past) will be deemed as an impostor’s. In such cases, the system will place a 24-hour bar on subsequent attempts and no missions or jobs will be issued.

The Organisation and Roles
The lowdown on META - The Organisation of Assassins
History
Till this day, very little is known about the elusive META except that it arose from obscure origins and was previously known as ‘The Freeman’. It started out as a fraternal organisation formed by a group of ‘retired’ assassins who decided to band themselves together during the late eighteenth century in Ingolstacht (Upper Bavaria).
Charles Theodore, Elector of Bavaria then, decided to ‘fight fire with fire’ and secretly enlisted the organisation to neutralise all other secret societies who were becoming hotbeds of conspiracies to overthrow the Bavarian Monarchy. The campaign lasted for decades even after Theodore’s death, and the organisation continued its secret assassinations.
‘The Freeman’ expanded and started administratively organising itself into independent chambers (or domes as they call) across countries, each of which governs its own jurisdictions, but all still adhering to an intricate system of operation that only a few ‘Dome Masters’ are aware of.
During the early 1930s (after the First World War), ‘The Freeman’ was renamed META.
Mission
Since then, numerous historical and current events are seen as steps in an on-going plot to maintain global control of food and resources, and significant occurrences in politics and finance are speculated to be orchestrated by influential individuals (of META) operating through many front organisations.
Seen as a secretive power elite with a globalist agenda, it is alleged to be instrumental in prominent world affairs and has been linked with secret operations of present day governments and high profile organisations.
Objective
Comprising of highly trained assassins, members operate (with much guarded anonymity) in underground activities, never divulging their identities in any threatening situation. Strictly following the assassin’s secret codes of conduct, any one found in breach of them will be shown the path of death. Even so, there are no known ways to enter and all who do, seal their fates with an oath of lifetime allegiance. Only the best are called and a selected few have the privilege of executing key missions.
Other Roles you will see in the game
INTERPOL is the world’s largest international police organization, created to facilitate cross-border police co-operation, and support all organizations, authorities and services whose mission is to prevent or combat international crime. Each member country has a National Central Bureau and is typically a division of the national police agency or investigation service and serves as the contact point for all INTERPOL operations.
It’s been rumoured that META has collaborated and provided the international agency with ‘assistance’ on certain ‘classified’ cases in the past.
Game Features
KILL POINTS & BADGES
The more kills made, the more Kill Points an assassin has to advance to higher levels. Breakdown of badges awarded to the levels are as follows:
Tip off: Kill Points will determine the quality of missions, jobs and rewards open to each assassin. Higher-leveled assassins also unlock better tools and firearms and receive valuable tips and more frequent bonuses throughout the advancement of the game.
KILL MISSIONS
Assigned Kill Mission
Prior to any assassination, everything begins with a Kill Mission assigned to you. This basically consists the specifics i.e. details of your target. Just follow the given instructions from META and make the kill.
The primary objective of any Kill Mission is just to kill off your target - it’s to kill or be killed - that’s pretty much the name of the game! However, wounding your target (by depleting his health points) will also allow you to move on to other targets, if you choose not the pursue the mission any further.
Successful Kill = 3 Kill Points
Successful Wounding = 2 Kill Points
Max. Kill Points (per target) = 5 Kill Points
Tip off: Assassins will only be awarded the points for killing or wounding their specific target(s) ONCE. ‘Nuff said!
Outsource Kill Mission
You can choose to have your target(s) up for other assassins to kill by outsourcing them . To do so, the player must put a bounty on his target(s) and state how much he will be willing to pay other assassin(s) to complete the kill mission(s). Similarly, you can take up more missions, up to a maximum of 8 per player at any one time.
Tip off: Your bounty offer is limited only by how much game dollar you got at hand, so play it smart before you outsource your mission(s)!
NB: If your mission(s) is / are not taken up, you are still liable to take out your target(s) within the 10 days' period respectively. If not, the same penalty of $500 Game Dollars applies.
Write your Kill Story
The fact that you’re reading this says a lot!
As such, all assassins are given an option to write their Kill Story to document their hunt and subsequent kill. These kill stories are then rated by other players by liking them.
Failed Mission
You basically failed your mission if your target was NOT wounded OR killed within 7 days of receiving the Kill Mission. In this instance, the specifics of the target is released and the mission will be reassigned to another assassin.
NB: The assassin will be penalised with a deduction of $500 (game dollars) for the failed mission before receiving a new target.
Reassignment of Mission
As the above states, after 7 days and still no kill made, players will be reassigned with a new mission and target.
In the event that your target is wounded (but not killed), you can also opt to be reassigned with a new mission and target (before the 7 days are up with no penalty issued) or continue to pursue your original target as intended.
The decision is yours to make.
JOBS
Assigned Jobs
To assist in Kill Missions, the game would require players to complete certain Jobs assigned by META. Bottom line, it's all about laying low and being vigilant even though you are highly trained in infiltration for the purpose of capture and gathering intelligence and know various forms of camouflage and stealth.
When successfully completed, these jobs will yield rewards ranging from Game Dollars to Tools and Firearms to further your game!
NB: At any point of time, players can hold up to a maximum of 8 jobs.
Job Classifieds
Apart from Jobs assigned by META, there are additional jobs that you can take up and challenge yourself from the Job Classifieds section. With limited openings and based on your assassin level, these special jobs can help boost your Kill Points and earn you more Game Dollars. However, failure to complete those jobs may result in a deduction of corresponding Game Dollars (tagged to the same selected jobs) from your account.
NB: Players can choose to take up unlimited number of jobs published at the Job classifieds.
Types of Jobs
Check In
Check Ins are designated websites that you 'rendezvous secretly' and stay on site for the required amount of time stated to 'meet your handlers' and 'acquire new intel and resources'. By doing so, you will be able to accumulate Game Dollars or other Tools.
Tip off: You can be surfing other websites and also accumulate Game Dollars along the way.
Surveillance
Surveillance is a critical part of an assassin's job and without proper surveillance, there is no way to make a successful assassination. In conducting a surveillance, you will need to be observant and have a keen eye. There are 3 types of surveillances:
Website Surveillance
A Website Surveillance involves visiting a designated website to retrieve an important clue, clock in a certain amount of time, and answer a question or as the Job instructs.
Google Streetview Surveillance
A Streetview Surveillance job requires you to visit a specific set of coordinates, then using the streetview page on Google maps, solve a puzzle as the Job indicates.
All jobs must be solved in a single try and keyed into the system before is declared successful or fail.
Spot The Difference
A Spot-the-Difference job requires you to observe and identify the differences between 2 images within a given time, or as the Job instructs.
Dead Drop
To complete the Dead Drop, assigned players must print out the given QR code and Numerical code, put it in a water proof bag e.g, a zip loc bag and select a good location to hide the package well. After which, players must take a picture of its placement and detail in words the location and manner it’s been hidden.
Only upon successful pick up by another assassin will the due reward be received.
Pick Up
In similar fashion, another group of players must locate the QR code from the same designated physical location by logging on to a URL link bearing the same exact details of the Dead Drop. The Pick Up must be accomplished within the next 7 days in order to receive the reward and subsequent mission.
Tip off: Prepare and hide your dead drops well; get half-rewarded when the dead drop is done and handsomely rewarded when the package is successfully picked up.
REWARDS
For each completed job, players will receive an accompanied reward. These may take the form of Game Dollars or Tools for the next mission. To qualify for the reward, the job must be deemed successfully completed according to the specific instructions within the given time window.
Playing Meta Assassins
Registration
Registration is done via facebook connect and this can be accessed through the MA's official website or facebook itself.
Its highly recommended that the information provided during registration should be accurate so that every player will experience the full extent of the game itself. So be your true assassin self and play fair!
NB: Every assassin will have to rate the accuracy of their target's details whenever the dossier is provided, and this in turn will affect that player's reputation score as a worthy assassin or not!
Friends as Lookouts
Lookouts act as virtual informants in your game when their plugin is on. The more playing friends you have, the more lookouts you will gain. With lookouts, both you and him will receive notification when your target is spotted on their page.
Plug-in Installation
The next step is to install the plug-in which is available on MA's official website or facebook itself for download. Once installed, the plug-in can be accessed at the side bar as you browse the Internet, prowling for your target. It also provides information on your current game status - assassin level, reputation scores, health points, game dollars, active missions and jobs at hand to complete.
NB: The plug-in is currently available only for Firefox, and will soon be available Chrome.

My Identity Tab
My Identity acts as your real-time status ID card - the page where a one-glance summary of your progress and achievements can be viewed.
Routine Order Tab
Every fibre of your being will live by a set of instructions (and updates) called Routine Orders.
Each META Assassin is made aware of them and they form the basis of your very existence - from the missions handed out and jobs assigned to your current status and experience level - always check back and proceed instinctively.
Updates Tab
An assassin is always aware of his or her surroundings and environment, no matter what the situation is.
Following real time and depending on the current situation, always remember to retrieve the latest notifications and messages and get Updated accordingly.
Missions Tab
META will hand out your missions, bearing vital info and intel for you to perform hits on your targets. But just remember, there's always someone else who has a target on your back too!
Jobs Tab
It's all about laying low and being vigilant to get your Jobs done even though you are highly trained in infiltration for the purpose of capture and gathering intelligence and know various forms of camouflage and stealth.
META will dispatch jobs that will literally take you to places. Accomplish those tasks and get rewarded with game dollars, weapons or further intel to something greater to pursue etc.
Armoury Tab
You trust no one, except your weaponised "darlings" and take serious pride in your collection that forms your Armoury.
All META Assassins are recipients of multi-disciplinary military training; proficient in not only basic infantry skills, but in special operations, which includes the use and maintenance of specialized firearms and explosive ordnance to aid them in their Missions and Jobs respectively.
Game On - To Hunt Or Get Hunted
Meaning of the Coloured Icons
When both the Assassin and Target land on the same website, coloured icons will appear on both respective browsers and they effectively mean different things:
NB: As a target, should you choose to escape by going offline, closing your web browser or logging out abruptly, the penalty will be a deduction of 1 Health Point.
Tip off: The size of the icon appearing on your screen is determined by your Assassin Level - the higher your level, the bigger the icon.
Tip off: The speed of the moving icon appearing on your screen is determined the weapon of your choice - the better the weapon, the slower the icon moves.
Neutralisation
During a shootout, if the target has manages to shoot his assassin before getting shot at, the assassin is neutralised and blocked from seeing his target for the next 24 hours. The target also gains 1 KP.
Tip off: If you got the cash to spare, blow it on a concealment wig and throw your target off guard.
Assassin Turf War
In addition to having assigned targets from kill missions, players can also engage in a shootout with any other online assassin. So long as both players land on the same website, a shootout may be triggered and the successful assassin to wound/kill will be rewarded with $500 from the losing assassin.
NB: In a Turf War, the engagement is ONLY between the two assassins. As such, the losing assassin just gives up $500 to the winning assassin but is neither neutralised or killed from the actual course of the game itself i.e. his health points and status remain the same.
NB: In a Turf War, the only thing expanded are the rounds from the weapons that both assassins used to engage each other.
The Police
Working with Interpol, the police from member countries are assigned and tasked to do their stake outs on random sites. So, if your cover has been compromised and you get shot by a police officer, you’ll face confinement and interrogation for the next 24 hours - during which your game play is also put on hold for 24 hours.
Tip off: Like any cool-headed assassin, we strongly recommend that you do what you need to avoid such situations and websites.
The Effectiveness of Tools & Firearms
Each respective tool or firearm purchased from the Blackmarket carries with it a different range of effectiveness to facilitate the search of or to cause variable pain and damage to your impending targets.
NB: Feeling cash rich and wanna spend? Even so, you can only purchase the firearms & tools strictly available to your current Assassin level and Reputation Score.
Surviving Meta Assassins
STAYIN' ALIVE
Health Points
As with all able-bodied assassins, your health begin with 10 health points and will decrease each time shot by an assassin. Depending on the weapon used, each shot will reduce a target’s Health Point by 2 to 8 points. You will be considered dead when Health Points deplete to 0. Health Points must always be recharged through checking in to designated Health Recharge Sites, chosen by yourself upon registration.
NB: META will automatically put an (inactive) assassin into retirement when his health point is (passively) reduced to 1. What that happens, all kill missions, previously held by the assassin, will be released to other players. If the assassin was a target, he will also be taken out of the hit list.
Health Recharge Sites
Health Points are recharged when visiting designated Health Recharge sites. Whatever your fancy, you can pick (up to) 5 Health Recharge Sites which will recharge your health on a per 30 minutes basis, up to a maximum of 10 Health Points.
NB: Health points will deplete by 1 point every 12 hrs, regardless whether your plugin is on or off.
Tip off: You should pick sites which you frequent on a daily basis, and where you spend the majority of your time online.
Buying Life
Back for vengeance? You have an option to revive yourself if your Health Points have been depleted or when shot dead. This requires $10000 Game Dollars or $10 Real Cash.
Retirement
Maybe you just had enough of these senseless killings, and wanna do what normal people do... well, whatever that means! Just remember that you’ve vowed secrecy to META, so don’t go telling or else...
NB: In retirement mode, you still keep the game dollars you have made, but all previous targets you’d held will be released to other assassins.

Game Dollars
With Game Dollars, you can purchase tools and firearms from the Black Market, to arm yourself and improve your game play. There are 2 ways to accumulate Game Dollars:
Money Exchanger
Money Talks! So convert your real currency into Game Dollars if you want to. Payments may be made using credit card and paypal.
$1 USD = $100 Game Dollars
Accumulate Daily Cash from Websites
By visiting different sites, other than your Health Recharge Site(s) and featured sites, you can still gain Game Dollars for each minute spent surfing and browsing them respectively.
NB: If you have multiple tabs on your web browser, the plug-in will only register and dispense Game Dollars based on the active tab that you are currently on.
Daily Cash
Everyday, you can get loaded with Daily Cash by visiting any site after installing the plug-in on your active browser tab. These sites exclude designated Health Recharge sites or any Bonus sites. One key thing to note for laundering specialists - opening of multiple browsers and tabs do not increase earning of Daily Cash as only your active browser will be clocked for cash.
Tip Off: Cash is an important commodity used in-game as Game Dollars and can be used to purchase useful items in the Blackmarket to improve gameplay, and buy life when killed.
Cash Making Sites
A good cash making site is equivalent to smuggling into the biggest bank. For any assassin, the value of cash awarded is determined by popularity and number of users present on the site. A site which generates more cash also means more players on site and higher risk of being found by his assassin.
Different sites feature various bonuses and can only be redeemed on a single active open browser with plug-in installed. Simply put - once your cursor leaves the page, you’d be as good as gone from the bank.
Tip Off: Cash making sites will dispense Game Dollars based on a ranking of top 20 most visited sites
Reputation Scores & Ratings for Assassins
Reputation scores are rated according to the authenticity of a your identity keyed in during registration. All players are encouraged to play the game as an extension of their original identities as opposed to creating a make believe identity.
You will start with a score of 1 and can reach a maximum of 10 points. Higher Reputation Scores yield better jobs, special missions, and insider tips on game play.
Reputation Scores are determined by ratings given by your assassin, and verification questions generated by the game system. After every period of shootout (10 days), your assassin is required to rate a thumbs up or thumbs down for your accuracy and authenticity of provided information. Thereafter, if your next assassin gives the same rating, your previous assassin is awarded with $100 game dollars, and you increase in 1 Reputation Score.
Tip off: Do your due diligence, check on your target and rate him (positively) for accuracy in the info he has provided; earn your cash when the next assassin picks him up on his list and rates him (positively) as well
Special Bonuses
Secret Stash
Here’s the meat, my friend. Secret Stash sites are surprise sites with a hidden bonus in any form, from weapons to cash - like a fat loot, if you wish. Active on random dates, a player will be notified upon landing on a Secret Stash and is required to stay on site for at least 10 minutes. A Secret Stash site is only good for single visit per player and bonuses received are limited in number and kind.
Tip off: Secret stashes are laid all over the interweb; stay on the mentioned site long enough (more than 10mins) and you get to keep the stash, no question asked.
Laundering Day
Ka-ching!! Laundering day is your bonus check-in, active for a limited time of 24 hours only. You may just receive an invite to collect laundered cash by visiting designated sites, all random with variable amounts given out each time. You must stay on the laundering site for at least 10 minutes to receive complete payout.
Birthday Special
How about unleashing mayhem in your birthday suit? We dare you.
On your registered birthday (on the Facebook account), a rare firearm will be automatically issued as a birthday treat. You will then be notified to activate the weapon in the armoury.
Safe House
Your haven, enclave, respite, whatever you want to go by, it’s a buffer site where no shooting, health recharging, or cash earning can take place.
Black Market
The Blackmarket is the underground exchange place where all assassins can enter and purchase Tools and Firearms for their missions and jobs. The currency used in the Blackmarket is Game Dollars and all transactions are kept strictly confidential.
TOOLS
All Tools possess special features to help track down the whereabouts of your targets, or hide from your assassins. Highly effective and valuable, each tool is valid for a single use, and differs in kind and use but will all be crucial in your hunt and defence.

| Tracking Beacon | A tool used to track and report the online status of the target, the Tracking Beacon implants an invisible tag to the target, allowing you to be informed each time a target is in sight. | Informant | An informant provides privileged information about a target’s whereabouts, acting as a spy and lookout at hot spots, where the target is most likely to appear. | Bullet Proof Vest | A basic tactical body armour, no attack is complete without the first level of defence. Absorbing the impact from firearms and close combats, a Bullet Proof Vest is a necessity every assassin should don at all times. Protects the target from his assassin’s first attack and prevents the target from being killed or wounded at the first shot. Wearer will be notified with onscreen warning after being attacked and must escape by moving to another website. | Decoy | A decoy is a tool planted on any website, to fool an assassin that the target has appeared. The assassin will not gain any kill points for shooting a decoy as it is essentially, a body double if you will. The target does not suffer any loss of health points. NB: Once planted, the decoy will be activated and is valid for the next 7 days even if the real Target is offline, unless gunned down by the Assassin. | Single Use, Valid for 7 days | $1500 |
FIREARMS
Firearms are an extension of your body, essential for survival and to make a clean kill.
Every upgrade improves your precision and accuracy, inflicting more damage (and pain) for a quicker kill. Each weapon of destruction has a different ‘response time’ and is only effective for a limited number of shots. The better your weapon, the faster you would see your target, and the easier it would be to aim and shoot.
Once empty, the armoury falls back to the default pistol with unlimited shots.
Tip off: You are not Rambo, so go out (in style) and not some 80’s vengeful barbarian brandishing all his weapons at once. You can ONLY select 1 weapon of choice when engaging in shootout, so select wisely before you prowl.

ASSASSIN'S CODE OF CONDUCT
Given the nature of this unique game that transcends the virtual realm and crosses over into physical space, there are some important ground rules that must be observed:
1. No contact between target and assassin should be made in a manner deemed to be disrespectful, threatening, harassing, or inappropriate.
2. No physical contact of any kind between assassins and targets.
3. Unwanted taunting of your target is not recommended.
4. Defacing public property in the process of carrying out physical jobs is not allowed.
5. Do not try to break or “game” the system, everyone enjoys the game if everyone else plays by the rules.
PRIVACY & SECURITY
What’s here is simple, accurate, legally binding assurance of your privacy and security which we all revere.
Your personal information will never be sold or shared with any third parties and we do not keep track of what websites you go to using the plug-in:
1. Your information will NEVER be shared with anyone else nor sold to any third parties. No personally identifiable information will ever be released to anyone outside of the company.
